Tenerife is ideal destination for a break to forget the northern Europeanwinter. With an average flight time of approximately 4 hours you find yourself in a pleasant subtropical climate all year round. Tenerife is a versatile holiday destination. If you love sunbathing the southern part of Tenerife, where our house is located, is the best destination. But you can also visit one of the many nature and animal parks, picturesque villages with folklore acitivities, museums in Santa Cruz of discover other places of interest
Tenerife offers numerous possibilities for hiking. Not only in the volcanic park of the Teide, but also the beaches and barranco (canyon) offer numerous well documented hiking trails. Vilaflor, at an altitude of 1500 metres, has an abundance of hiking opportunities.
At the culinary level you will appreciate Tenerife. The number of restaurants in the tourist centres is of course overwhelming. If you would like to see more of the Canary islands, you can cross part of the ocean by ferry (only about one to two hours) to one of the neighbouring islands like La Gomera and La Palma. And mentioning sailing: from Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas you can do an ocean excursion looking for whales, dolphins and porpoises.
As mentioned before, Tenerife is the place to go for all watersport lovers. But whereas El Medano is the place-to-be for surfing, Golf del Sur is the meeting place for playing golf. Each year both places show up in current sport programmes because of the world cup events. Para sailing and parapente are some of the other branches of sport or leisure activities to be practiced on Tenerife. On the cultural side you can visit concerts and museums.
